Abstract:

This study examines the significant influence of Indian cinema, primarily exemplified by Bollywood, and its music business on the processes of globalization and economic progress in India. Despite their widespread reach and worldwide recognition, there exists a discernible gap in the entire comprehension of their significance.    The theoretical framework of cultural imperialism theory is employed to analyze the complex interplay between economic power and the spread of culture within the context of Indian film. However, the objective of this research is to address the existing gaps by providing a comprehensive examination of the many impacts of Indian films and music. It highlights their importance in molding global attitudes, fostering economic development, and projecting India's soft power on a global scale. Utilizing a mixed-methodological framework, this study examines the transmission of Indian culture, economic contributions, and the promotion of Indian identity facilitated by the Bollywood industry.    The findings of this study have the potential to give valuable insights to policymakers and stakeholders, providing recommendations on how to effectively utilize the cultural and economic opportunities presented by the Indian entertainment industry.
