Female Journalists' Challenges in Bangladesh

The media industry in Bangladesh is going through fundamental changes due to improvements in technology and changing cultural expectations. Female journalists are important for influencing public discourse and promoting various viewpoints in a dynamic environment. Their professional journey is filled with complicated challenges. This study utilizes a comprehensive mixed-methods approach to explore the diverse challenges faced by women journalists in Bangladesh. The theoretical framework is based on Gender Role Theory and looks at how social norms affect gender-specific tasks and expectations. At the same time, the concept framework looks at important aspects, such as bias based on gender, differences in representation, workplace dynamics, harassment, career growth opportunities, work-life balance, and the effects of digital media. The study's findings highlight the importance of achieving gender equality in the media industry. This research evaluates the particular challenges faced by female journalists, making an important contribution to the global discourse on gender equality and fairness. It supports a more diverse and inclusive media environment in Bangladesh.
