Progress in research is to leap forward in the domains of new ideas, innovations and inventions. Over the years, with consistent emphasis of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan on quality, research writings have improved substantially. However, the issue of connecting academia with the corporate world in the research pursuits remains short of the desired levels. In Karachi Campus, we have devised a mechanism of Corporate Advisory Committee which is comprised of the Chairman and Members, all from the Business Fields. For every issue, we discuss the new ideas coming to the corporate world and try to select those articles which cover our relevant areas. This has made our journal slightly more relevant to the issues of the business world. The writers are also requested to focus more on applied research covering issues confronting the corporate sector. I sincerely hope that the emphasis on building bridges will continue to guide us in selecting the most important research articles for publication in GMJACS. This is our sincere endeavors to ensure that academic and corporate research is integrated for optimum mutual benefits. With a review board that is larger and more diverse, we are ready to accept quality submissions of multiple dimensions.
In our understanding university journals must provide solutions to the communities and societies. A good journal is recognized not only as the one where authors choose to send their most exciting findings, but also the one which makes the students to raise questions and prompt possible solutions. The management science is expanding in scope and spectrum, getting more and more topics in its folds; we also expect our readers and writers to reflect future of organizations contributing towards well being of the humanity. In a time when interdisciplinary research is ubiquitous, it is difficult to define what truly integrates disciplines and simultaneously combines theory and application. Academicians, researchers and managers value interdisciplinary research because it challenges assumptions, interrogates as to which questions are most important, which methods are most appropriate, and what evidence should constrain the interpretation of any given research finding.
The current issue of GMJACS is more mix of material and human resource management,
implications and applications of modern technology including IT. We had received over seventy articles for this issue; however only about twenty could get through the process of desk evaluations. Stringent blind peer review further slashed the quantity, so only 19% could come up to the standards of publishing in GMJACS. Rejection rate of about 81% of total articles for this journal reflects quality consciousness which has crept over a period of time since its launching. It is getting tougher and tougher with every passing day which is a positive sign.
We would like to thank all members of the editorial board, review board, contributors, and all
colleagues and staff members who have extended their support that made this edition of GMJACS possible. We expect our readers to send us their precious feedback at gmjacs@gmail.com, so that we can assimilate value in order to further enhance the quality of the journal.
